Pros of the M-Audio Sp2
1. Overall a well constructed, sturdy design. Can be used at home but also durable enough for gigging/live performance.
2. Responsive mechanism with a smooth action.
3. This is a full size piano pedal at ten and a half inches long - about the same size as an acoustic piano pedal. Ideal if you are piano player transferring over to keyboard playing, or simply want a full size pedal.

4. The pedal comes with a polarity switch, and so is compatible with almost all makes of keyboards.
5. The Sp2 has a rubber bottom. This is a very useful feature that prevents the pedal from gradually slipping away from you as you play the music! Also heavier than most pedals which also helps it to stay put. |

Cons of the M-Audio Sp2
1. Having a large pedal such as this may cause space problems. E.g. if you play with your keyboard right up against the wall, the pedal may stick out too far from the wall for it to be comfortable to play with your feet.
2. Although often advertised as having "Half-pedaling" capabilities, many users complain that this is not possible. The Sp2 has a mono-jack output. Normally a stereo jack output is required to make half-pedaling possible.
3. Has a tendency to squeak more than most good quality midi pedals.
Verdict
The Sp2 represents good value for money, with its durable design, polarity switch and full-size pedal. Suitable for most playing standards. Unfortunately let down by not having a half-pedal capability.
